To help ensure that all Jeffco students receive the best education possible in a safe and caring school environment, I am proud to run for the Board of Education, District 4 position.

I will be a tireless and fearless advocate for each and every student in the district. I have learned from my experience as a Jeffco parent, teacher, principal and now grandparent, the incredible importance of positive, productive, and respectful relationships between all members of our school communities.

I have strong roots in the Two Creeks neighborhood where Molholm Elementary School serves as a community hub. At Molholm I was a parent, tutor, student teacher, teacher, assistant principal, and principal. I raised my family in the Two Creeks neighborhood and board horses on my property. During my Jeffco career I also taught at Lumberg and Stein Elementary Schools. I was the Principal at Russell Elementary School and Wheat Ridge Middle School. I earned my B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a M.A. in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado, Denver.

When my children were of preschool age, I found myself as their single and only parent. It became important that I have a career that would be long lasting and supportive of my family. The always positive interactions I had with my daughter’s kindergarten teacher at Molholm Elementary School inspired me to become a teacher. She became my mentor and guide as I became an effective and reflective teacher. When I decided to pursue an administrative license I was inspired and mentored by my principal at Stein Elementary School, where we worked on school reform and district equity issues in a collaborative manner.

I plan on bringing my experiences in education to the Jeffco School Board to ensure every kid has a fair shot at having a successful and productive future.
